I have not been ok over the past few days. Things have been hard mentally for me. I have struggled to talk openly with my white peers about the systematic racism in this country. I have known from a very small age where I stood and what I faced. Getting people to listen and take note and have faith that what I am saying is really important and my experiences are real has been another task.
I feel that I have spent years making myself small so not to rock the boat or seem “aggressive” 👀. Yeh, I am not doing that anymore. I can also see FULLY who is ready to stand up and say something no matter how small. And who is more worried about loosing followers. Who is so comfortable in their privilege that they are refusing to see why it shouldn’t exist in the first place and in that they are sure they are right for not talking openly or engaging in the hard discussions that as a black person you face EVERYDAY - Not just when something outrageous happens and you happen to catch the news. This maybe only a few days in for you but I have lived this and watched it unfold my entire life, 36 years. I am happy and I appreciate so many people are speaking up but it really shouldn’t have taken the heinous death of #georgefloyd to wake people up.
I am going to join the chorus of black and brown people around the world and ask - WHY HAS IT TAKEN YOU SO LONG TO NOTICE AND ACT?

Soooo... I clearly gave in earlier this year with the March meet the maker. This was for quite a few reasons the main one being I just didn’t have the time to devote to it, but now I have all the time in the world and it’s April - oh the irony.
While I haven’t been posting on here I have been indulging in meme madness on my stories to keep my laughs up and head sane.
We are all in the shit at the moment due to a rather nasty virus doing the rounds. I have been spending my time home schooling my kids (a bit?!) chilling with my family, cleaning my house, rearranging my wedding cake diary, playing my cello, and baking every type of bread I can think of... today was Focaccia!
Now the wheel has stopped turning how have you been spending your time? Are you well? Are you surviving ok? Do you have enough loo roll??? I genuinely want to know!
